Why choose a large Berber rug?
A large rug structures a whole living space: it brings the sofa, armchairs and coffee table together into one area, warms a large floor and absorbs noise. Our large rugs, roughly 2.60 m to 3.20 m long, are hand-knotted in natural wool from the Middle Atlas. Each piece is one of a kind and shown with its exact dimensions.
What size for a living room?
The rug should at least sit under the front legs of the sofa and armchairs. In a living room of about 20 m², a size around 250 × 170 cm works well; in a large open-plan room, aim for 300 × 200 cm or more so that all the seating rests on it. If possible, leave 30 to 50 cm of visible floor between the rug and the walls.
A lasting investment
A large hand-knotted rug takes several weeks of work, which explains its price. In return, dense natural wool stands up to foot traffic for years and develops a patina over time. Turn it once or twice a year so it wears evenly.
